Hey I am a proud owner of the Acer 5739G. I recently bought it in calcutta…and it it awesome !!!!!
Got 320 GB HDD, 4 GB ddr3 Ram, 512 ATI graphics card, 4X Bluray Drive, 5-in-1 card reader, HDMI output, Bluetooth, 4 USB ports (with one e-sata combo),etc. Though my model lacks TV tuner card.
The processor (core 2 duo) is really impressive in this baby, though the yucky Windows Vista Home Premium is a bit let down. I would like to upgrade to Windows7 Home premium with something close to Rs. 1800 offered by acer !!!!
Games run great. I play only racing ones and NFS carbon was like a real treat!!!
Sound output is great with the inbuilt low frequency subwoofer and Dolby home digital surround sound. The multi-gesture touchpad is a real treat.
I would recommend everyone this lappy cause this is one complete entertainment package with a serious hardware.
Go for it. It’s cheaper than most other laptops.

Well for Acer Laptops in Chennai, can try dotcom stores which are in Spencers, Anna Salai(Mount Road) and also Shanthi Colony, Anna Nagar you can get optional T6500 too although the 800MHz processor speed and 1066 Ram speed make no sense regardless of DDR3 4GB etc. I saw that Alienware has come out in Chennai as there was an ad in the Times of India paper regarding the same. But that is not for the budget conscious and more of the extreme gaming and no budget restraint kinda dudes… Alienware Area-51 m15x the best in the 15″ laptop class I guess for gaming… wish I had one : (

I bought this Acer Aspire 5739G, 10 days back. It has Bluray/DVD combo drive, T6400 2.00 GHz processor, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 320 GB HDD, Bluetooth, ATI 512 MB, TUBA speakers etc etc. This is an ultimate laptop. It is a an excellent gaming laptop. With the pack, you also get 4 Bluray movies too. It is very much available in Bangalore, but in Limited quantities.
Wel the Us 5739G does not have blueray or blue tooth the biggest down side. since i live in the us and cannot order form another country. But as for the specs of the us version it is the t6500 and the gt 130m i would belive that the nvidia car is better than the ATI card. but im just saying i have not researched it. but i believe this to be true. the 130 m has shared up to 2780 mb of graphics.
Harsh is right in saying that 5739G comes with T6400 and not T6500. Also the card is ATI Radeon 4570, and not nvidia 130m, and the graphic performance of ATI one is just about 2/3 of that of nvidia one. Check out the acer’s india website fr exact specs.

I am also quite keen on this model as it has 4x-Blueray combo disk drive (as an option instead of the 5-in-1 reader)+ multi-in-1 card reader & 320GB hdd. It is not yet available in Bangalore. As per Acer, it is expected by 29th July. Price 50K+taxes
i went to all acer mall in bangalore ……. no one had tat model … tey said it’s an intenational model and wont be available in india (blore)…. he gave me an another variant off tis model 51,500rs all most same ……but difference is radeon 4570 hd 512 mb dedicated graphics + shared upto 1789 mb and a blue ray disk ………. but i want nvida 130m model …………. guys any 1 plz tell me wer wil we get tis model (5739g NVIDA G130M)MODEL …………….????????????????? plz ?????????
the best lappy i ever seen ….. with 130 gt m ( class 2 which beats 9650 m gt and 9600m gt and ati radeon 4570 hd ) …. better tak tis lappy if u wanna buy ….. i am takin it soon ) cant wait for it !!!!!…. easily beats dell studio 1555 which has radeon 4570hd ….ultimate gammeing laptop i wolud say guys …………. i rate it 95/100 for gamming …… hope tis cooment would help u while buyin ……
