Hey NEERAJ . I have dell inspiron 1440. I have installed windows XP onto my laptop. ALl the drivers are installed except for the wireless driver because they werent able to. So i have a USB port which replaces the wireless driver that i dont have. So if you want you can do what i did. Just a suggestion.!

i’ve inspiron 1440 realy dis is nice n sleek model nd bettry bakup is gd max.4 hr.
Pros:
1. Good 3 to 3.5 hrs battery backup
2. Compact & sleek
Cons:
1. Mouse touch pad doesnt have horizontal & verticle scroll
2. Though their are 3 USB ports but at a time only 2 can be used as their isnt enough spacing between 2 USB ports to plug 2 devices.
3. No LED light indicators for CAPS ON/OFF, Scroll Lock etc.
i think this laptop is very powerfull configaration and battery.

The Biggest problem i have found after purchasing is that they do not supply XP drivers, i got windows 7 CD with it and when i tried to reinstalled it didnt work, i asked customer care they told that dell doesnt ship CD hardware again. First of all, Windows XP is a 9 year old operating system which must not be used. Second, it is very vulnerable to viruses & malware. Third, it doesn’t have the features that 7 offers. I feel so crippled when I go back to XP after using 7. That must be enough reasons to stick with 7. If you argue saying that some of your programs don’t run on 7. Either

I m trying to install XP but now i can see the drivers cd has support only for windows 7 and vista, even on website of dell there is no support. .i m searching for drivers.
