MTNL launches 3G Jadoo Mobile services in Mumbai w.e.f. 10th August 2009. The service will enable the customers to make video calls from mobile phones and access Internet on the move at a very high speed. MTNL 3G service is available in both Prepaid and Postpaid plans. The detailed business process and the tariff is as follows:
- Business Process :
a) New Dolphin customers :
i) Opt for a suitable 2G (GSM) Postpaid Plan as per customers’ convenience and obtain the SIM card.
ii) Opt for 3G services while applying so that 3G will be configured.
iii) Opt for a suitable 3G data product of choice from the Products below.
iv) Customers will be provided the defacto tariff plan for 3G services as per attachment.
v) There is no restriction for data download, unlike prepaid customers.
a) Existing Dolphin customers :
i) Opt for 3G services by contacting toll free number 1503.
ii) Opt for suitable 3G data product of choice.
B) Tariff for 3G :
A customer will have to take any of the existing Postpaid tariff plans on offer. Then for opting for 3G service the customer will have to pay the following charge and will get to avail the tariff mentioned below :

2) Business Process & Tariff for New Trump(Prepaid) customers :
a) Business Process for New Prepaid customers :
ii) New Prepaid customers will purchase any of the 2G GSM Prepaid Kit from among Rs.40/- SIM Kit, Rs.75/- (Lifetime SIM) or Rs.199/- (SIM Kit).
iii) Recharge SIM with top-up voucher in order to have atleast R.350/- talk value.
iv) Opt for 3G services by sending SMS ‘ACT 3G” to “444” to activate 3G services. Activation of Rs.300/- will be deducted from his/her Prepaid account.
v) Customer will have the defacto Tariff plan for 3G services as given in the attachment.
vi) For data access, customer has to charge his account with any of the data coupons/vouchers listed in the attachment.
vii) Customer will not bee able to access the Internet or use data download features if ;
a) the balance free data download in his account is less than or equal to 20 MB or
b) the balance talk value in the Prepaid account is less than or Rs.50/-. The talk value in Prepaid account is also used for deduction towards content download charges.
b) Existing Prepaid customers :
i) Customer will ensure atleast Rs.350 talk value in his Prepaid account.
ii) If not available refer step 2 of new prepaid customers above.
iii) Step 3, 4 5 & 6 of 2A(i) above are applicable further.
Tariff for Prepaid customers :
A customer will have to take any of the Prepaid tariff plans on offer for 2G. Then for opting for 3G service the customer will have to pay the following charge and will get the below mentioned tariff.
