TVS Jive
The new TVS Jive is a 110 cc engine bike featuring rotary gear technology and an automatic clutch. The TVS Jive’s four speed engine delivers a solid four stroke performance with 8.1 Bhp @ 7500 rpm and a torque of 8.1 Nm @ 5500 rpm. The new TVS Jive bike has a light weight at 110 Kgs which makes it convenient to handle. Alloy wheels complement the bikes wheelbase of 1260 mm which makes cornering and maneuvering effortless. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres with two litres as reserve.
The key feature of the new TVS Jive motorcycle is the absence of the clutch lever, making riding on this motorcycle a hands free gear shift experience. The bike therefore can be ridden by almost anyone who has a sense of balance as there is no need for manual clutch-gear co-ordination while shifting.
A unique feature of TVS Jive bike is its anti-stall mechanism which makes smooth riding possible at low speeds even in high gears, without the engine shutting off. This is not possible in bikes with the regular clutch system. The downward rotary gear system enables the rider to reach neutral straight from top gear. However, it is not necessary that the bike has to be in neutral while starting. The bike can be started in any gear and is fitted with an electric start for convenience. It is also the first bike in the country to have an under seat storage space , large enough to hold a water bottle, vehicle documents and even a small umbrella.

The idea of a bike without clutch is good as it will give advantage of hassel free gear change. But the few things I would like to add on to the bikes are:
(i) Look to the bike
(ii) Disc break
(iii) Tubeless tyres
Further, I would like to say that Cheap material should not be used as can be seen in star city the Chesis is made of cheap quality metal to reduce the cost of bike. Further, alloy wheel must be of best quality, so that they did not bend or break as can be seen in star city.
I have some doubts:
(i) Life of the bike without clutch?
(ii)Maintenance cost?
(iii) Will it gives constant milage of 65 kmpl over the year?
This might be the questions, why other manufacturer are not manufacturing clutchless bikes. If above can be answered/ improved I will definetly go for clutch less bike.
This is prakash, idea of clutchless bike is realy verry gud .bt its doughtful that we can use it for long journey.out of the main cities or village area .is’nt it?

Clutchless bike, does it mean, its like a scooty?
The millage should be 70+ & the price averageprice should be in between 35,000/- to 39,900/-.
Look is not attractive though clutchless innovation is appreciative. Price should have been below Rs.40,000/-
Riding jive is nt at all a concern for ppl whohave nt ever drivena clutchless vehicle!! Its better tha gearless because gives more rev and pepto teh engine!! ans as far as stress free driving conditions is concerend nothing better than this!!it does arnd 60- 65 kpl..thats way good by other gearless bikes right!!
Th rotary gears are super cool!! ther is indicator to tell u u r in which gear and no issue or confusion abt how to shift gears!! its plaina nd easy. for every gear u have to push the lever !!
So i believe it has everything to go for it!! for commuting for daily purpose,easy and stress free driving!!

Hi all,
I bought this bike, so liked to put some light on it for u all.
First, this is not a gearless bike. it has 4 gears. +point is just that u need not hold clutch before changing the gear, as u press the gear lever with ur left leg the gear gets changed (i mean to say clutch is integrated with this move)
I have no previus exp of riding any 2 wheeler other than bicycle, but after I bought this, its great I have kept the gear to 3rd since I bought and have driven 100+ km without changing gears. I stop and start and move all in this gear.
I felt at gears 1 and 2 the bike is aggressive, little accelerator will kick the bike, so as a starter I can’t control it, but at 3rd and 4th its really as cool and gentle as honda activa.
-point is u need to change gear with acceletor at 0 position else, ur are thrown out of control.

The idea of a bike without clutch is useful in congested traffic.
Mileage should be around 70km/lts and cost Rs.40000
It is doubtful that the bike will run smoothly without cluth functionality.Should wait and watch for the actual performance review of bike.

It will be very helpfull to ride easily in traffic conditions. And moving the vehicle in any gear and slow in top gear is very good innovation. But the look of the bike should be changed.
